Bookd is operated by Caius Data LLC (Wyoming, USA). Bookd passes booking requests between guests and independent properties. The contract for the stay is between the guest and the property. Property owners pay Bookd 5% of the value of each confirmed booking, after the first month, which is free for new properties. Deposits are held by card and only charged when the property accepts; if it declines or doesn't answer within 2 hours the hold is released. Guests can cancel free of charge (deposit refunded) until the property's free-cancellation cut-off, by default 7 days before check-in; after that the deposit is kept by the property.
